Day 1: Starting 8.30 am / Meeting point Alexander Nevsky cathedral

In the morning we will do one hour walking tour in the heart of Sofia.

Then we will visit Boyana church near Sofia. (1h.)

The program is followed by transfer to Varvara - a small village famous of wine and mineral waters. From there we will take the scenic narrow train to Velingrad(12:30- 14:05ч. in Velingrad). The journey in the Western Rhodopes begins. The scenery is varied as well as beautiful, with a mixture of deciduous forests conifers, and open pasture.

Arriving in Velingrad for lunch, booked restaurant!

After lunch, our program will begin with a visit to a workshop for hand-woven carpets and rugs in the village of Kostandovo (1 hour). Their carpets are laid also in the Buckingham Palace.

Next object will be Lepenica Cave – one of the few caves, untouched by civilisation, yet open to the public. But this is exactly where its appeal lies. An additional entrance and equipment fee applies.

Transfer to Fotinovo. Overnight in a guest house.

Welcome dinner!

Note: In the evening and early in the morning we will go spying wild animals.

Duration – 10 hours.

Day 2: Wild animals watching - Fotinski waterfalls - communist museum – Batashki snejnik peak

Waking up at 5am for wild animals watching. Easy trek to the place.

Program is followed by breakfast.

Short walking to the Fotinski waterfalls. “Fotinski waterfalls” are cascade of 3 waterfalls. The highest is tall 17metras. Spectacular sight guaranteed engaged a rural tourism – meeting the local mountain people.

Transfer to Peshtera. Lunch in this small city.

The best we keep for the end of the day – Panoramic breath taking view from the summit Batashki snejnik (2081m. altetude)- 6th highest in the Rhodope mountain. From the summit we can see Batak dam, part of Rila and Pirin mountain.

Moderate trekking - 3-4 hours.

Over night in Pashino Bardo Lodge.

Day 3: Pashino Bardo Lodge – Mantaritsa Nature Reserve – Beglika Reservoir

We will go through Mantaritsa Nature Reserve, nestling a more than 150-year-old forest with spruces and a species of pines native to the western Balkans. Its fauna is rather impressive – during the months of April and May the capercaillie could be seen – a wood grouse, included in the IUCN Red List. In the conservation area is a big chance to see wild animal.

Program is followed by breakfast.

At the end of the path we will reach the dam Beglika – one of the highest and most beautiful dams in Bulgaria. At this spot we can rent a bicycles or kayaks. Than plan is to paddle with kayaks, but if someone is scary from water sports the person can get a bike.

We will spend the night on the waterside of Beglika Reservoir.

Duration – 6 hours.

Day 4: Town of Borino – The Devil’s Path – town of Devin- Wild animals watching

We are about to make our descent towards the village of Borino, where the Devil’s Path starts from.

The Flower of Orpheus lives in the gorge – its local name is silivryak and the plant is endemic to the area.

Penetrating through the karts massif, the Buynovska River has curious natural formations and has also shaped a few waterfalls.

The Buynovsko Gorge is included in the 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria.

Its end will take us to the tourist route to the village of Yagodina.

We will spend the night at SPA hotel in city of Devin.

Note: In the evening and early in the morning we will go spying wild animals.

Day 5 (last day): Relaxing day in Devin and transfer to Sofia

Short walking through caller Struilisa path, located nearby Devin.

Lunch in Devin. After the meal we a heading to Plovdiv to visit the old town – Roman Theater, Roman Stadium, houses from the Revival period (2hours).

About 4 p.m. we leave for Sofia.

  • Departure and travel times are approximate and they depend on the pace of the whole group. These also include time for rest. The guide has the right to change the route upon unexpected circumstances! For the trek you will need insurance, dry food and water. We will tell you for every single day how much food to take. The hotels can prepare for us the day before.
